What Give Us a Project keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we keep what we need to run your plans, we never sell it, and you can take it away.

Who we are
Give Us a Project (giveusaproject.com) helps teams turn a sentence into a shared plan. When this page says “we”, it means the team that runs Give Us a Project. You can reach us at support@giveusaproject.com.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, your profile picture and the account id they give us. We don't get your password for those services.
- What you put in. Projects, tasks, dates, comments, decisions, files and anything else you or your team add. It belongs to your workspace.
- The quick intake on our home page. When you type a project there before signing up, we use the sentence to draw a draft plan and don't store it. If you press “Looks good, save it”, the draft is kept in a cookie in your browser for up to two hours so it can become your project after you sign up.
- Connected tools. If a workspace admin connects Slack, Google Drive, GitHub or another tool, we read only what that connection allows, to give Archie context. Admins can disconnect at any time.
- Basic logs. Things like when you signed in, your browser and a network address, to keep the service safe and working. Network addresses used for rate limits are stored as a scrambled code, not the address.
How we use it
- To run the product: show your plans, send the emails you ask for, and keep your workspace working.
- To power Archie, the AI teammate. Archie reads your workspace to draft plans and answer questions for people who can already see that information. We don't use your content to train AI models, and we ask our AI providers not to either.
- To keep things secure, stop abuse and fix problems.
- To tell you about important changes to the service. We don't send marketing without your say-so.
We never sell your information, and we don't show ads.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture, and use them only to create and show your account. If your workspace connects Google Drive, we read the files and folders the connection allows so Archie can use them as context, and only for that workspace. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't transfer this data to others except to provide the service, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger with notice to you.
Who else handles it
We use trusted providers to host the service, store files, send email and run AI models. They may only use your information to provide their service to us. We'll share information if the law requires it, and we'll tell you first where we're allowed to.
How long we keep it
We keep your workspace while your account is active. When you delete a workspace or your account, we delete its content within 30 days, apart from what we must keep by law, and backups roll off within a further 30 days.
Your choices
- See, correct or delete your information from your account settings, or ask us at support@giveusaproject.com.
- Ask for a copy of your information.
- Object to how we use it, or ask us to limit it.
- Complain to your local data protection authority if you think we've got it wrong.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your settings and hold a saved draft from the home page. We don't use advertising cookies.
Children
Give Us a Project isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it applies.
